Winners are grinners

Mercian League Final Round - Oak Park, 14th July 2018

An unexpected win at the last round of the Mercian League provided Orion with a Winners Shield to hold for the year. All of the swimmers worked together as a Team and worked hard to earn their win.

The positions of the teams in the gala were constantly being announced and surprisingly Orion were constantly announced as the top club but with just a few points between the Teams taking part. The position, as the Team in front, became very unpredictable as different Teams were winning races and then coming last which made the position very confusing and difficult to guess as the gala progressed.

Hopefully the parents from all of the clubs taking part enjoyed the Gala, as Orion parents did, which is aimed at a level where Regional timed swimmers do not swim, giving an opportunity for other swimmers in the club to compete. The Orion swimmers all had an individual swim and looked as if they were enjoying the occasion with some very good times being recorded. Orion had many wins and many swims where swimmers progressed with their technique. A good night's work.

Thanks to all of the helpers poolside and to the swimmers who took part without moaning at the stroke I gave them, which is a first.

Parking at King Edwards

The Chief Master has specifically stated that under no circumstances should any person park their vehicle on the double yellow lines throughout the site, at the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre and most definitely not on the grass verges.

We hope you will take note and act accordingly to maintain the good relationship we have with the school.

To see the dates on which parking at King Edwards is prohibited - please see our changes and closures web page

In order to park on the King Edwards School site, all cars must display a parking sticker. Failure to do so may end in tears.
